GEMFIRE FOR ENTERPRISE INFORMATION INTEGRATION (EII)

EII addresses the problem of unifying metadata semantics across multiple data sources and providing a uniform federated query mechanism across these sources. Applications often experience performance and scalability issues in accessing data through these centralized federation schemes, especially if the queries involve complex join conditions.

The GemFire Enterprise Data Fabric provides a distributed data management framework on top of enterprise information integration solutions for caching and distributing data across applications that rely on information from multiple sources. The integration of these solutions can occur through standardized interfaces like JDBC or SOAP and can be used to cache result sets or SOAP responses in a distributed fashion and close to point of use. The different caching topologies that GemFire supports - including partitioning and disk overflow - help overcome and scale out of the 4GB RAM restriction of traditional in-process caching solutions.
