GemFire Real-Time Events is a main-memory based active data management system that can analyze thousands of events and distribute events of interest to hundreds of remote clients in real-time. GemFire Real-Time Events Ensures Speed and Agility for Business Activities

A GemFire Real-Time Events system is a distributed data management system that consists of multiple server virtual machines (VMs) and numerous clients.

GemFire Real-Time Events offers the following features:

• SQL syntax and semantics: GemFire Real-Time Events provides a standard and intuitive interface for application developers. Clients can run standard SQL queries through a JDBC interface, and they can also register Continuous Queries with the servers.
• Data distribution and notification services : All events captured as deltas on the server cache are translated in real-time into deltas on views registered by clients and pushed to the clients. The servers can distribute data to hundreds of clients in real-time. Arriving data automatically notifies the client application through simple callbacks.
• Smarts for handling hundreds of Continuous Queries : The systems uses several algorithms and techniques for managing query predicates to quickly determine the queries that are affected by incoming events.
• High availability: The server can be configured to be highly available. GemFire accomplishes this by replicating data as it arrives at one or more servers. All meta-data that the server uses, such as information on active queries and schema information, is available to all servers. Clients are automatically routed to alternate servers if the connected server fails.
• Load balancing: The client JDBC driver can be configured to load balance connections across several replicated servers. Load balancing will result in the servers to be less loaded and perform, scale better.
• Automatic failover: When configured with multiple replicated servers the client JDBC driver will automatically detect unrecoverable errors in server connections and automatically delegate to alternate secondaries.
• All-Java product: Easy to embed and deploy.
• Management console: The GemFire console is a tool for administering, inspecting, and monitoring GemFire server and client connections. GemFire exposes the management APIs using JMX for easy integration with enterprise management consoles.
