Caesar’s PetroVR Application, Enhanced with Gemstone’s Proven Technology Expertise, Provides Enterprise Collaborative Analysis Solutions

BEAVERTON, Ore.—June 6, 2002—GemStone Systems, Inc. today announced that its performance software will be used by Caesar Systems to enhance the functionality of that company’s PetroVR {Petroleum Ventures and Risk} product suite. The integration of Gemstone’s industry-leading technology will boost performance across the entire PetroVR product offering, which includes PlanVR, EconVR and PortfolioVR. Caesar’s decision to integrate Gemstone’s technology is based on the needs of its customer base, including BP and EnCana, who are experiencing rapid growth in the petroleum industry.

Caesar Systems will leverage the Gemstone object database capabilities to offer increased performance for companies specifically in the upstream petroleum industry who need a robust platform to deliver critical data that provides for more informed decisions across a geographically dispersed organization.
